Baggage Limitations

Domestic flights in China have a maximum weight restriction of 20 kilograms (44 pounds) per person for checked luggage. You will be charged extra for the overage although the extra-charge is not too much.

International flights usually only allow two check-in pieces and sometimes a combined luggage weight of no more than 20 kilograms (44 pounds).

Tip: It's better to bring only one piece of luggage to China. You can always buy another piece cheap when you need to check two pieces of luggage home. If you bring extra luggage when traveling within China, you may have to pay an excess fee at each airport.
