I am from the US and wanting to marry a Chinese woman, my question is: Would it be easier (time wise) to marry in China and then try to obtain the paperwork for her to come to the US or would it be better if she applied for a visa in China and then came to US to get married?

I am interested in the same. I have found out that it is very difficult for a Chinese citizen to obtain a visa for travel just to visit or vacation to another country. They may travel for business or to go to school, but proof in the form of paperwork is necessary. I am planning on making a new life in China. I am also curious about if I will be able to bring her back to the states, or not.

time wise it is the same no matter where you marry. marriage is not the trick. getting the US visa is the hurdle. i was not going to quit me job, move to china and wait for visa and i was not going to leave a wife 12000 miles behind. we are working on the k-1 visa process and it will end up taking a year.
