Kunming to beijing

I am planing to travel china on september 11. Is it the right time to visit china.Is there any high speed luxury train (soft sleeping birth) travel from kunming to beijing (how many trains per day)? Can i buy ticket over the counter one day before. and is it possible to buy return ticket from kunming to beijing. What is the easiest and cheapest way to travel to beijing. any other recommendation for journey and accommodation in kunming and beijing would be appreciated.

I thought this web site has detailed train schedule between Kunming and Beijing. T62 is the one.

You can buy ticket over the counter, but nothing is for sure. Sleeping birth is in high demand. So i think you should not take that risk. Better to buy it early. You can buy in Kuming for the return ticket from Beijing to Kunming.
