[edit] Description

Taibailou (太白楼) was first constructed between 806 AD and 820 AD to commemorate Li Bai (李白), a famous poet of the Tang Dynasty. It was rebuilt and adopted the current name in 1730. The 3-story structure is of typical Chinese architecture with a height of 18 meters, a length of 34 meters and a width of 17 meters. Along with Yueyanglou (岳阳楼) of Yueyang, Huanghelou (黄鹤楼) of Wuchang, Tengwangge (滕王阁) of Nanchang, they are called the famous Jiangnan "three lou and one ge" (三楼一阁).
