[edit] Description

Tianyahaijiao (zh:天涯海角) (literally "edge of sea and sky"), is about 24 km to the west of Sanya, and is considered the south-most point of China. It's a spectacular sight-seeing spot to view South China Sea. When weather cooperates, one can see some islets in the South China Sea.

[edit] What to see

  • Sun and Moon Rocks (日月石) are two huge rocks near hundreds of other odd-shaped rocks. Here the "Sun" refers to "husband" and the "Moon" refers to "wife". Though separate rocks, they look like a couple entwined to each other when looking from the distance.
  • Southern Heaven Rock (南天一柱), a boulder near the Rock of Sun and Moon with a famous poem inscribed on its top.
  • Tianya Cliff (天涯), with inscription on its top.
  • Prehistoric Shell Museum
