It is located in the Qingliang Peak National Nature Reserve where Zhejiang Province borders with Anhui Province. The name comes from its location. It features high mountains extended from Yellow Mountain and fast running water from Qiantang River System. The linear circle-shaped scenic spot is about 80 kilometers in length and composed of three sections. The first section called Longjing Gorge of 18 kilometers starts from Longgangdi Tower to Yutiao Baxian Pond. The second section called Shangxi Gorge starts from Yutiao Huaguang Bridge to Shangxi Taizi Peak. The third section called Zhemen Gorge of about 30 kilometers starts from Taizi Peak to Maxiao Shishilong Village. Its main scenic spots include Cormorant Pond, Diaoshui Rock, Zhelin Waterfall, Jianmen Gate, Water Playing Beach, Shemen Bay, Laozhui Stream, Lion and Elephant Bay and White Horse Cliff.

Take coach to Daoshi at Hangzhou Coach Station and get off at Tianhu Villa, Taiping Bridge. It takes you 23RMB to take the special bus to West Zhejiang Grand Canyon at Lin’an which departs every 7：30 and comes back at every 16:30.
