Situated at Dashi, Fanyu, Guangzhou, Xiangjiang Safari Park is opened on Dec. 26th, 1997. It is well known for large-scale free raise of wild animals and the newness, uniqueness and strangeness of the precious animals. It is now the biggest reservation of White Tiger appreciation and reproduction in China, with more than 60 white tigers, 1/3 of the world’s total white tiger. It is reputed as “Guangdong Scientific Educational Base” and the first 4A tourists of China.
The zoo is broken into 2 main sections a “Safari on Foot” section where guests walk around a modern zoo, and a “Safari on Wheels” section where guests board road trains and travel through an impressive open plains zoo with three main areas, an Asian plains, African Savannah and predator zone.
Xiangjiang Safari Park combines fauna breed and protection, science research, tour and science education together, aiming at “protecting wildlife, protecting natural resources”, highlights the nature returning subject and field flavor of “Animal and Nature, Animal and Human”. With the foundation of High Standard, High Beginning and Linking to the World, the zoo emphasizes the taste of “Wild, Interesting, Unique and Distinctive” and stressed the atmosphere of “Ecology, Environment and Animal”. The environment replaces the cages with glass and gaps, and thus drew close the distance of animal and human.

Go around: Take Bus No.247 from Dashatou, Guangzhou; bus No.282 from Guangzhou Railway Station or bus No.288 from the South Station can arrive.

- 1. Do not bring fireworks or firecrackers, flags or drums, cats or dogs into the park for the safety of animals.
- 2 Private cars are permitted in the zoo, but you should keep to the right side with a speed between 5-15 km/hour. It’s also not allow to stop or park anywhere inside the area. Do not use your horns, or chase the animals.

Guangzhou is under the semitropical climate which has no heated hot days in summer or severe cold days in winter. With the pleasing four seasons, it is the big city with the smallest average difference in temperature except Kunming all through the country. The spring here is wet and rainy; the summer is a little bit hot and sometimes hit by typhoons; the autumn is cool and windy with favorable temperature, and the fine weather will last until November and December and this period is most suitable for tourism. Therefore, the period from October to December is the ideal time for traveling there.
