Xinghai Lake got its name because it lies in the north of the Sand Lake, also named North Sand Lake. It is situated in the east of Dawukou District, Shizuishan City, which Shanshui Road passes through. Here the gulls gather from many places, the widgeons are in group with various species, the reeds are verdant, the narrowlaef cattails are continuous and the clear waves are sequestered.
With a total area of 43 square kilometers, it contains lake area of over 20 square kilometers. Used to be the site of the old sand lake in Ming dynasty, it was a wetland formerly at the margin of the city. People of Shizuishan have changed the mire into a lake with rippling waves, fish through salvageable treatment. It is made up of Bainiaoming, Golden Xiyu, South Sand Sea, Hexiang Valley, the Crescent Sea and Egret Continent. Shengqin Island, Hexiang Island and Birds’ Island are brilliant like the stars over the lake of over 20 square kilometers. The gulls gather from many places, the widgeons are in group, the reeds are verdant, the narrowlaef cattails are continuous, what a beautiful picture!
